Christmas Eve was spent at my parent’s house with my family which meant all four of my brothers, my sister, parents and my brother’s fiancée. It was relaxing, except for trying to keep Everett out of the dog’s food bowl, and simple which pretty much meant it was perfect.
Since there are so many of us every year we draw names among the siblings for Christmas gifts. And like every year my mom plays Santa and hands them out.
For weeks Marcus has been anxiously awaiting the day when he could give Everett his Christmas present. And for weeks with a smirk he’s been telling us “just wait until Everett gets his present” which brought forth fear in us.
It turns out this gift was a sword which Everett has carried around everywhere slaying dragons, chasing people and “knighting” them or something like that. Anyway, it was definitely a hit!
It was nice to be all together and enjoy quality time with the family. It was also nice to get to know Micah’s fiancée Ashley a little better. She made eggless cookie dough and they were so good!
My very talented mom made Dustin and I another sign. We are in the process of slowing replacing the black furniture in our home with brown and she made us a new sign to replace the black one she made a few years ago. Of course we love it!
It was the perfect Christmas Eve spent with loved ones enjoying quality time and creating memories and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
