Harpers Ferry

When Dustin came back from Utah he was able to take off a few days so that we could be together as a family. The first few days were laid back and relaxed but we knew that one of his days off we wanted to do something fun. The day before he was to go back to work was a beautiful day, weather wise, so we packed up the kids and headed to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

It was the perfect fall day for an excursion such as this one and and after grabbing lunch in a renovated train car, we enjoyed walking around the town, seeing the river and we were able to watch a train pull into the station which Everett loved. We did quite a bit of walking especially up a big hill on which a beautiful church sat. The hike up, even with strollers, was so worth it as the view was breathtaking. The pictures definitely do not do this place justice!

We weren’t sure how the boys would do on the trip with so much sitting between the two hour car ride and sitting in strollers but they were great! We did take Everett out for a little so he could walk and he excitedly pointed to everything with a “ook! ook!” and he was very intrigued by the ladybug on Dustin’s hand. Somehow though he missed the one on his own little hand, no matter how much we tried to get him to notice he was just too distracted by everything else going on. But that’s our curious boy, taking in the big wide world!

And of course we snapped just a few pictures of the day.

After leaving Harpers Ferry we headed home and stopped for a few minutes at the park. We didn’t stay long though as we were tired out by the walking and the boys were restless from sitting.

We had a great time and definitely plan to go back at some point in the future!
