One Month Already?!

How is it possible that this little guy is one month old today? I know, I'm sounding like one of those sappy parents but this month really did fly by!

Everett is growing fast, so far it seems he is on track to be long and skinny. Kind of like someone else we know. :-) I'm not sure how much he weighs, our scale is broken and I'm scared to get a new one...  But I did measure him and he is twenty-one and half inches long which means he's grown an inch and a half. Over night it seems he's gone from barely eating two ounces to now eating three to four. He's a good sleeper and he has recently been sleeping for a four to five hour stretch at night which is awesome. He does sleep in bed with us, he prefers that over his bassinet. We'll have to figure that out soon but for now it's easier and I'm loving it. He still has a fussy time around 10:30 PM to midnight though we're learning that that is due to him being hungry. Apparently that's the biggest meal of the day on Everett time!

Little man loves his swing, his pacifier, loves being held and talked to and loves listening to music. He likes any kind of music but his favorite is a Irish-Norwegian duo who play instrumental music. Dustin has their album "Earthsongs" on his iPad and you can pretty much count on their music calming Everett down. It's hilarious and adorable, we discovered this by accident but it's been a lifesaver on numerous occasions already. He recently has also enjoyed being laid down on the floor to look around. We've tried playing with toys but he's not too interested just yet.

He's very noisy and constantly making baby noises. He also is becoming more and more alert and is awake for longer periods of time. The best thing of all is he is starting to really notice us and as of today, has started to smile back when you talk to him. It's definitely been the most exciting change!

One of the wonderful things about Everett's first month here is that his Great-Grandpa was able to be here for it. I know he loves Everett and enjoyed being able to see him. He loved holding him and would talk to him about all sorts of things. His favorite thing though was when Everett would open his eyes and watch him. We're so glad that he was able to be here!

It's hard to believe how fast the first month flew by though at the same time it seems that Everett has been here much longer. I can't imagine our lives without him now that he is here. He is the perfect addition to our family and we fall in love with him more and more each day.
