I simply cannot believe that you are one today. How is it that it has been a year since your little body was growing inside of me and I thought you were never going to make your way into the world? Yet once your little mind was made up you most certainly did! And from the very moment you made your way into this big, wide world you have shown us your spunky, nobody is going to stop me personality. I don’t think I have ever met someone who is as determined as you are. From the time you noticed him, you have set your mind to keep up with your big brother and sat, crawled, pulled yourself up and walked way before we were ready for you too! And at one, you already have a vocabulary and have no problem letting those around you know what you want or when to “op” (stop).
You are a little monkey who climbs on everything, gets into anything and is forever having to be chased by whoever is watching you for you love to be on the go and sitting still is an action not really known to you. You are also quite the little ham and all your little antics keep your dad, brother, myself and anyone around laughing, in fact you also crack yourself up quite often! Your little laugh alone makes your entire family smile and you often make strangers smile as well just by giving them one of your mischievous grins. You are daring and you do not hesitate or stop to think, boy, you just go. I have a feeling my heart is going to be in my throat quite often with you!
Reid, when we found out God had given you to us to add to our family we were so scared and overwhelmed. Your brother was just a baby and we could not imagine what having a fourth member so soon would do but now a year later we realized that God knew exactly what He was doing. You are perfect for us and our family would not be the same without you. You are such a sweet and snuggly baby boy who is so funny and so busy. You are the best little brother and friend to Everett, you are very patient with him and tough as you put up with all his roughhousing so well!
And you are our son who makes us so very happy and we will most likely never be able to fully express just how very much we love you. And though we are still young ourselves (no, really we are) I think it is very safe to say that being your parents is one of the greatest blessing we will ever have been given or experience. We love you Reid and that will never, ever change! I pray that we can do right by you and raise you up in the way you should go so that you can be the awesome man of God I know that He has called you to be. You are going to do such great things, you already have, just by making your dad,myself and so many other people so happy and we are so very proud of you and thankful that you are ours. We love you Reid and so look forward to as many days as God gives us to spend with you!
