Brotherly Love

Everett & Reid

When Dustin and I were expecting Reid and people began to find out how close in age the boys were going to be, many told us that their children were close together and they had no regrets. “They’ll be the best of friends” was something we heard often and still hear now. Dustin and I would always respond in agreement and with a smile. We believed that as well but what we didn’t realize is that the best friend process would start so soon. When various people told us this we were thinking once they turned two and three or some such age but at seventeen months and almost five months they are already on fast track to becoming best buds.

Worth It All

This time last year I was just a few weeks pregnant with Reid. We hadn’t told anyone yet, I think we were still in denial over the fact the we had a four month old baby and were pregnant again! We were racking our brains trying to figure out how on earth we were going to manage two kids twelve months apart. All I could picture was lots of tears, meltdowns and stress plus dirty diapers, bottles and fussiness times two. And there has definitely been all of that, however, there has been a lot of fun too. Now that Reid is growing a little older we can honestly say that we are starting to see that having two so close together is worth it. Absolutely crazy but worth it.

Reflecting on 2014

2014 has been quite the ride. At the very end of 2013 we found out we were expecting our second child when Everett was just four months old.

Highlight Reel: December Highlights

I’ve been a little lax in posting our activities in the month of December and what posting I did do was all on Instagram so here is just a quick post of the December Highlights.

Sometimes it seems as though church is our home away from home. I wouldn’t have it any other way but it’s always interesting with the boys. Most Sunday mornings we end up here. Some call it a nursery but around here it’s called the “cry room” and for good reason. Dustin usually has to be a church early to practice with people and to make sure everything is set up. So in order to be at church on time this room doubles as the kitchen where the boys eat breakfast and the bathroom where I fix my hair. It’s weird but it works.
