It's also hard to believe how little he was. As short of a span as six months is so much happens in that time for a baby. Dustin and I often find ourselves saying "remember when he was little" knowing full well he is still little now.
Little man has learned to reach out and grab his toys on his playmat. He actually no longer uses it since he learned out to pull the toys off and I felt it defeated the purpose but he enjoyed it while it lasted.
We've been working on tummy time but he has never been a fan even now. He'd much rather stand and can hold himself up. Once he figures out how to balance he won't need much help! I'm hoping he'll learn to like tummy time at least well enough to figure out how to crawl. He has yet to have any interest in rolling over but I'm sure he'll figure it out soon.
He could not figure out why it was so dark when we put his sunglasses on and was looking around everywhere! |
Which might also be why he likes his highchair so much. I can sit him in it, give him a few toys and he is able to check out everything that is going on. It's great when I am making dinner or cleaning and Dustin is unable to help entertain him. He is a pretty good baby though and can often entertain himself. Which we are learning is due to his little independent streak which honestly is a big help. He can now hold his bottle and feed himself and is slowly being introduced to solid foods. He loves applesauce and begs for more.
His new favorite toy is his bouncer which he got for Christmas though he often has meltdowns when the toys don't fit in his mouth. The hole you see there? A toy we had to remove which caused much distress. For all of us.

He has discovered his feet and loves to play with them and is working on cutting at least one tooth. He is a daddy's boy in the sense that he loves to play with him, no one can make Everett laugh as hard as his dad can! He is now at the point where he knows Dad is home from work and gets very excited about it. And he is a momma's boy in the sense that when he is tired, sick or upset he wants his mom to hold him. He definitely loves both his parents though and we are loving it!
We are so blessed to have this little boy as our son and are so enjoying watching him grow and learn. It is so much fun being his parents and we fall more in love with him each day.
